I've played violin professionally on stage and in the studio in multiple genres.
I pursue my teaching and performing schedule alongside my job in the NHS.Whether you want to pursue a professional career as a Violinist, simply want to play the Violin/Piano for fun, or even just work on reading music and music theory, I'm happy to work flexibly towards your goals. My teaching philosophy:
I believe that true enjoyment comes from improving. I do my best to make my students feel like they're progressing each week.My lessons are typically well-structured, offering accountability, and I can provide practice plans after lessons when needed.I like to keep things straightforward because it's all too easy to make teaching violin or piano more complicated than it needs to be.I incorporate both traditional resources and digital tools such as apps and videos into my teaching. Consistently forward-thinking with an in-depth working knowledge of all leading teaching programs.
Tuition & Payment Information- I am pleased to offer new students a 10 minute video call to discuss lessons, goals, availability, and technical setup where needed.- I also offer a FREE complimentary 30-minute trial lesson. Following this, lessons can be booked direct with myself. No registration fee.- Lessons available online or face to face.- Payments are processed securely online via bank transfer or through one of the music agencies I work alongside, with payment plans available. All major payment methods are accepted; cash payments are not accepted.- International students are welcome.
A short introductory call can also be used to confirm platform compatibility, audio quality, connection stability, and suitable payment methods for your region. Depending on your location, lessons may need to be arranged directly rather than through certain teaching platforms or agencies.- Confidentiality is respected for all students. Secure online lesson options available upon request.
Useful music resources, including instruments, books, and apps.
Recommendation lists below.Advanced materials dependant on student development
Booking a LessonI teach music lessons for anyone aged 7 and up, including adults. I offer violin and piano for all levels, and music theory up to Grade 5 ABRSM. Policies• All students have access to 2 yearly performance classes and 1 music industry trip.
• Flexibility - If there's a long period that you can't attend lessons, due to holidays for example, I'm also happy to work around this. Lesson cancellations require at least 24 hours’ notice. With sufficient notice, the lesson can be rescheduled without charge.
• All messages from prospective and current students are responded to within 24 hours.
• For face to face lessons, parents of younger students are required to remain present for the full duration of the lesson.
• International students welcome if booked directly.
